What are AUTOart 1:18 models worth?
AUTOart has long been the benchmark for affordable quality scale models in 1:18. The brand offers a broad range, from entry-level models to the premium Signature Series. Value varies enormously by line and model. In this article we provide an honest picture of what you can expect.
AUTOart Signature Series: the most valuable line
The Signature Series is AUTOart's flagship. These models are distinguished by a white box, even more detailed castings and a higher retail price. In perfect condition with the box, Signature Series models are worth €150 to €400. Popular Lamborghini, Porsche and McLaren variants sit at the top of that range.
AUTOart Composite: the mid-range
The Composite line is recognisable by its use of multiple materials (diecast and plastic). These are still high-quality models. In perfect condition with the box they average €80 to €180, depending on the specific model and the popularity of the car.
Older AUTOart models
Older AUTOart models from the 2000s and early 2010s are actually sought by collectors precisely because of their solid construction and level of detail. Well-known models from that period in good condition with the original box fetch €80 to €200. Current standard AUTOart production (non-Signature) is the least valuable category.
Most sought-after models
- Lamborghini Aventador, Murciélago, Countach
- Porsche 911 GT3 RS, 918 Spyder, Carrera GT
- Nissan GT-R R35, Honda NSX, Toyota Supra
- Bugatti Veyron and Chiron
What reduces value?
The greatest loss in value occurs with: missing or damaged original packaging (-30 to 50%), paint damage or scratches (-20 to 40%), missing parts such as mirrors or aerials (-10 to 25%), and dirt or UV discolouration (-15 to 30%). A well-preserved AUTOart in perfect condition with its original box retains its value best.
