Selling Conrad and NZG models: construction vehicles and trucks in scale
Conrad and NZG are two German brands specialising in scale models of construction vehicles, cranes, trucks and agricultural machinery. Both brands have a specific, loyal collector market. If you want to sell a collection of Conrad or NZG models, it helps to understand what that market expects.
Conrad: precision models of construction machinery
Conrad Modelle, founded in 1955, makes scale models of large machines: cranes from Liebherr and Manitowoc, excavators from Caterpillar and Komatsu, and trucks from Mercedes-Benz and MAN. The models are heavily built in diecast, with many working parts. Scales range from 1:50 to 1:87. Conrad is popular with people who work professionally or as hobbyists with construction machinery.
NZG: trucks and industrial vehicles
NZG (Nürnberger Zinkdruckguss-Modelle) has been making accurate scale models of construction vehicles and trucks since 1967. The brand is known for its Liebherr cranes and Mercedes-Benz Actros models. NZG works directly with manufacturers, meaning the models are often used as promotional and corporate gifts. Promotional editions for large companies are therefore rarer and more valuable.
What are Conrad and NZG models worth?
- Standard Conrad/NZG models: €40 to €150 depending on type and condition
- Large crane models (Liebherr LTM, Grove): €200 to €500
- Promotional editions (corporate logos, dealer exclusives): vary widely, sometimes €300 to €600
- Older, sold-out series: demand determines the price, sometimes considerably more
