Selling GT Spirit and Ottomobile: resin models on the rise
GT Spirit and Ottomobile have quickly grown into popular brands in the world of resin scale models. They produce detailed 1:18 models of modern supercars at a price that many find affordable. But what are they worth at resale, and is it worth selling?
What makes resin different from diecast?
Resin models are hand-cast in small runs. They are often more sharply detailed than diecast, but also fragile: doors and bonnets do not open. GT Spirit and Ottomobile work exclusively with resin, which places their price range at around €100 to €200 — considerably less than comparable diecast models from AUTOart.
Which GT Spirit and Ottomobile models are valuable?
Not every model appreciates in value. The most sought-after models are limited editions in rare colours, special versions (RS, GT3, Cup) and models of brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bugatti. Ottomobile is known for its Renault and Peugeot models for the French market, but Porsche editions are also popular.
- GT Spirit Ferrari 488 Pista in rare colour: €150 to €250
- Ottomobile Renault Sport limited editions: €120 to €200
- GT Spirit Porsche GT3 RS variants: €130 to €220
- Standard popular models in common colours: virtually no added value
Do not expect large gains
GT Spirit and Ottomobile are not strong value appreciators. Most models retain their purchase value, but rarely rise spectacularly. If you have a large collection you want to sell, it is wise to have the models assessed: we can tell you which items are worth offering individually and which are better sold as a lot.
How do you sell GT Spirit and Ottomobile models?
Send us photos of your collection via the contact form. We assess the models, make a fair offer for the entire collection and arrange collection. You do not need to research or advertise each model individually.
