Mercedes-Benz scale models: which manufacturers do it best?
Mercedes-Benz is one of the most collected car brands in the scale model world. The range is enormous: from classic pre-war models to modern AMG sports cars and G-Class SUVs. CMC: the absolute pinnacle for classic Mercedes
For the most detailed classic Mercedes-Benz models, CMC (Classic Model Cars) is unmatched. CMC produces models of legendary Mercedes types such as the 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé, the W196 racing car and the 300 SL Gullwing. The models are hand-assembled from hundreds of parts and cost between €300 and €700 at retail. They are highly sought after by collectors and hold their value exceptionally well.
AUTOart: the most valuable Mercedes-AMG models
For the most valuable Mercedes-AMG models in 1:18, AUTOart is the reference. The Mercedes-AMG S63 AMG W221 and the C63 AMG W204 are the most sought-after AUTOart versions and are steadily rising in value now that they are no longer available new. Almost Real also releases a Mercedes model (the S600 W222), but for AMG versions the AUTOart models are the most valuable.
Minichamps: a wide range in 1:43 and 1:18
Minichamps offers the broadest range of Mercedes-Benz models, from classic Pagodas to modern GLEs. In 1:43 they are affordable (€40 to €80) and widely available. The PMA line from Minichamps contains more exclusive versions. Formula 1 Mercedes models from Minichamps are popular with many F1 collectors.
